A Blast From the Past

Remembering God's Work Over the Past Five Years

It was a dark and stormy night.  Not really - it was a bright & sunny summer.  In Myrtle Beach.  Five years ago.

I was on the first Summer Training Project (STP) in SCF’s history, spending my days working a full-time job and my nights receiving gospel training.  It was then that my heart was initially burdened to do campus ministry full time.

As I reflect on how the Lord called us to MSU, it’s impossible to miss what the Lord did in my heart while on STP.  Now, five years later, fourteen SCF students are also in Myrtle Beach, being challenged, as I was, in their understanding of the gospel and its applications for their lives.  We look forward to hearing from these students when they get back in August about how the Lord has used this unique opportunity to teach them about Himself.

I’m continuing to spend intentional time with my friend Anthony, who currently is seeking to understand who God is, but doesn’t know Jesus as his Lord.  My friend Jason Arnold, an SCF alumni who was in town visiting, joined Anthony and me for an impromptu bible study in my living room last Friday.

Anthony asked a lot of good questions, and it was nice for him to meet another young guy who has a passion for God and His Word.  As Anthony and I continue to study the book of John together, my prayer for him is that he would see the light of Christ and submit to Him as Lord.
