“Is this a joke?” My manager asked. It was, after all, April Fool’s Day.
“Nope. I’m serious.” I had just given my manager my four-week’s notice.
April 30th was my last day as an IT Associate at an insurance company. Megan and I had been talking and praying about doing full-time campus ministry since before we were engaged, and it seemed to be the right time to take the plunge.
Our plan is for me to raise support full time while Megan continues to work to support us through the fundraising process. Once we’re at 100%, she’s planning on quitting to come on part-time with Spartan Christian Fellowship (SCF).Besides raising support full time, I have been trying to spend time with two of my friends who are nonbelievers: Lakshmi & Anthony.
Lakshmi is a friend from India who I met while working at Auto-Owner’s. We’ve had some great conversations so far, and he understands why Jesus does not fit into the Hindu faith & worldview, but he still is not ready to submit to Christ as Lord of his life.
Anthony is a friend from my freshmen year at MSU. We were suite-mates in Holmes Hall & just recently reconnected after years of hardly any contact. We’re planning on studying the Word together this summer to learn more about who Jesus is and what he says about himself.
Please pray for these two men, that the God who spoke light into the world would also speak light into their hearts (2 Cor. 2:4).
Thanks for your prayers & support!
Chip & Megan
